The Capno Center for Better Breathing

We work with clients who are experiencing a myriad of “unexplained” symptoms, from anxiety and depression to phobias, pain, migraine, chronic fatigue, etc.  If you are experiencing these or any other ailments for which your doctor can’t seem to find a cause, give us a call.  It may be your breathing that is making you sick.  Your breathing behavior may be impacting your body chemistry in a very profound – and dangerous – way.  We can evaluate your breathing behavior and show you exactly what it’s doing to your physiology.  We can show you what effect your breathing is having on your body’s pH, the oxygenation of your cells, blood flow to your brain, vasoconstriction throughout the body (including around the heart), and even your cognition, judgment, and emotions.  We can then work with you to change your breathing behavior in order to improve your chemistry and alleviate symptoms.

For women who are pregnant, we can show you how your breathing behavior – even supposedly “good” breathing that you learned in a health, yoga, or childbirth class – can be seriously impacting the growth and development of your baby.  We can show you how your breathing can put you and your baby at greater risk for low birth weight, preterm labor, even miscarriage.  We can demonstrate how “bad” breathing behavior that you learn and practice throughout pregnancy can lead to symptoms of postpartum depression (and/or psychosis) later.  For mothers who are struggling with postpartum depression, we can help you determine if your breathing behavior is triggering symptoms and we can teach you good breathing behavior that regulates your body chemistry and helps reduce (or stop) PPD symptoms.

If you are experiencing any of the above symptoms, or if you just don’t feel “up to par,” but don’t have any specific complaints, please give us a call.  We can schedule you for a 90-minute comprehensive Breathing Behavior Evaluation and show you what your breathing is doing to your body chemistry.
